Principal
Mr. Shawn Currie
Mr. Currie began his career in education in 1996, where he served in a number of capacities. Prior to becoming an administrator in 2010, Mr. Currie was a teacher, peer leader advisor, football coach, basketball coach, and Dean of Discipline. He joined the Freehold Regional High School District in 2014, where he served as an assistant principal at Freehold Township High School and Colts Neck High School prior to his current position as principal of Manalapan High School. Mr. Currie earned his BA from Rowan University and his MA from Saint Peter’s University.
As principal, Mr. Currie is responsible for supporting innovative programs that challenge our students to develop their capacity to excel in a global and rapidly evolving society. He is committed to creating a school community that combines a rigorous academic program with a robust extracurricular experience to ensure all students have the opportunity to pursue their passions and interests while preparing them for their post-secondary endeavors.
Mr. Currie and his wife, Tara, have a daughter and two sons, and currently reside in Manalapan.
