Manalapan Freshmen Engage with Descendants of Holocaust Survivors
On December 16 and 17, World History students at Manalapan High School had the unique opportunity to hear from 2GNJ and 3GNJ - organizations comprised of the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. These speakers shared powerful, personal testimonies of their families' experiences during the Holocaust and their resilience in the years that followed. The freshmen were deeply affected by these stories, sparking thoughtful discussions and insightful questions. One speaker shared a profound piece of her family history: the uniform her grandfather was wearing upon his liberation from Auschwitz. Students were moved as they closely examined this rare, tangible link to the past. This meaningful program is set to expand to all high schools across the district over the coming months.
